During three weeks, 25 exceptional painters and pottery masters from ten countries will take part in the Cucuteni International Art-Camp 2016, staged in Ivancea village of Orhei district. The end of the camp will be marked by the Festival “Cucuteni” which will include an exhibition and public auction to sell the created works, IPN reports.
According to the organizers, through the works of art from clay and on canvas, the plastic artists will revive the Cucuteni-Tripolie culture whose center was in present-day Moldova.
The camp will be opened on June 26 and will continue until July 16. The 25 outstanding painters and pottery masters are from Poland, Lithuania, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Romania, Azerbaijan, Russia, Ukraine, and Moldova. All those who want to watch or even to take part in the creation process at thematic masterclasses given by international artists can do it on July 2, 3, 9, and 10.
The program of the festival “Cucuteni” will harmoniously combine the creative atmosphere produced by the participants in the camp and a rich cultural program centering on the Cucuteni history, customs, traditions, rituals and arts. The visitors will be able to taste dishes and beverages made according to the oldest recipes. The children will take part in real archeological excavations. There will also be staged a fire show, a performance of music by ancient instruments and of antic rituals. Entrance to the festival is free of charge.
The Cucuteni or Cucuteni-Tripolie culture is one of the oldest in Europe. It emerged several centuries before the appearance of human settlements in Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt and was spread on the current territory of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine.
