20 Moldovan military will replace their fellows in the post-war operations in Iraq, the Parliament ruled on Thursday, Info-Prim Neo reports. They have opted to participate benevolently with Moldovan equipment and ammunition. They will stay in Iraq 6 months, as the logistics are supplied by the US Government. As a rule the Moldovans detect and annihilate mines, ammunition, military equipment, participate in disarming, in destroying fortifications and train Iraqis military, Defense Minister Vitalie Vrabie said. According to the Minister, the Moldovan military take part in keeping peace and stability in different international missions, strengthening Moldova's image as supplier of security and stability. 87 Moldovan military have participated in 5 post-war missions in Iraq up to now.
