Victor Osipov, former Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Matters, is resigning from the post of Moldova Noastra Alliance’s vice president and is leaving politics altogether, he announced in a statement. He made this decision after the governing body of Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN) on Wednesday, March 9, decided to participate independently in the upcoming local elections. “I welcome the adoption of this decision, after long debates, and I wish my colleagues all the luck. As for me, the clarification of the situation in AMN was a precondition for me to engage in some personal endeavors. I decided to return to the private sector and potentially to the civil society sector, or to accept offers from international organizations that know about my decision to quit politics”, said Victor Osipov in his statement. “I ask the media and other commentators to avoid interpretations of my option, respecting the right to a correct image, mine and of AMN. Let me state that it was an honor for me to be part of that team, who ensured anti-communist resistance and the return to democracy – Moldova Noastra Alliance – headed by Mr Serafim Urechean”, said Osipov.
