The representatives of Chisinau and Tiraspol in the Transnistrian settlement process, Victor Osipov and Vladimir Yastrebchak, met on Friday, October 15, at the Ukrainian Embassy in Chisinau. In a press release from the Moldovan Reintegration Office, it is said that the meeting was in line with the systematic efforts for dialogue and focused on the promotion of the confidence building measures between both sides of the Nistru, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the press release, Victor Osipov and Vladimir Yastrebchak continued discussions on the efforts to streamline the activity of the sectoral task forces. In this context, it was agreed that the parties would participate actively in a conference organized by the OSCE to sum up the results of the confidence building measures, which will be held during November 9-10 in the German town of Garmisch. The political representatives also talked about the developments in the efforts to restore landline phone connection between both banks of the Nistru. They reiterated the understanding of the necessity to maintain stability in the Security Zone and refrain from activities with destabilization potential in the region. Victor Osipov and Vladimir Yastrebchak agreed to continue dialogue, considering the possibility of organizing this year one more meeting in the 5+2 format, the press release said.
