The OSCE Mission to Moldova welcomes the Government’s commitment to promote an open communication policy in the area of reintegration and to strengthen its institutional capacities for efficiently coordinating the settlement process, the Mission’s Head, Ambassador Michael Scanlan said in a meeting with Prime Minister Pavel Filip, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, the official approved of the decision to hold a meeting of the Cabinet in Comrat in the near future. He underlined the importance of approving the strategy for integrating the national minorities in Moldova as soon as possible and confirmed the OSCE’s readiness to provide support to the Government in achieving the set objectives.
The two officials also discussed the Transnistrian conflict settlement process and the measures to build confidence and strengthen security in Moldova and to integrate the national minorities into Moldovan society.
The Premier said the resolution of the Transnistrian conflict remains a top priority for the new Cabinet. Pavel Filip reiterated the Moldovan authorities’ commitment to strengthen the institutional capacities so as to improve coordination between the authorities responsible for the implementation of policies in the field.
