OSCE PA delegation to visit Chisinau and Tiraspol

A delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE headed by Petros Efthymiou is expected to arrive in Chisinau today, May 4. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Nathaniel Parry, editorial director of the International Secretariat of the OSCE PA, said the delegation will have a number of meetings that will center in various topics, including the Transnistrian dispute. “One cannot come to a country where there is a conflict like the Transnistrian dispute and not meet all the sides involved,” Nathaniel Parry said, specifying that the delegation will visit Tiraspol as well. On May 5, OSCE PA President Petros Efthymiou will meet in Chisinau with Head of Parliament and Acting President of Moldova Marian Lupu, Deputy Speaker Vlad Plahotniuc and the leader of the Communist Opposition Vladimir Voronin. Discussions will be held with representatives of civil society. The visit to Tiraspol will be paid on May 6. The OSCE PA delegation will have meetings with the Transnistrian leader Igor Smirnov, Tiraspol's representative to the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks Vladimir Yastrebcheak, and Supreme Soviet President Anatoli Kaminski.
