The OSCE Mission to Moldova hosts another art exhibition – this time the works belong to the young artist Veronica Iftodi – the 70+ paintings on display depict nature scenery and are created in a rather unusual technique, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the artist, nature is the core element of the exhibition. “It is the color of the nature that attracts me. I wanted to take one step forward in my evolution as an artist, to use these sentimental paintings as an expression of my spiritual state induced by the nature, to use something abstract to express my inner world”, says the artist. Veronica Iftodi has no particular way of applying colors on the canvas. “I guess I owe it all to my instincts”, she explained. There is no particular name for her unusual technique, either. “My paintings are pastier, and paste gives a genuine effect to them”. Veronica Iftodi is a fresh graduate of the Chisinau-based Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts. She made her debut in 2006 at the exhibit “We, the Young Creators” at the Expo Center Constantin Brancusi in Chisinau. Some of her paintings are held in private collections in France, Italy, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, the United States, and Moldova. The exhibition at the OSCE Mission is open to the general public through December 29. The prices of the works on display range from $150 to $550. “Each month the OSCE Mission to Moldova hosts exhibitions by painters from Moldova to gather people and offer them the opportunity to see art. This way we hope to contribute to a better understanding between different cultures”, Jude Hale, OSCE Mission’s anti-trafficking and gender program manager, told Info-Prim Neo. The first exhibition hosted by the OSCE Mission in 2003 displayed works of artists from the Transnistrian region.
