The OSCE Mission to Moldova and Austria have offered analysis and testing laboratory equipment during an official ceremony held today at the National Army Weapons and Ammunition Center. The donation includes specialized chemical testing equipment, administrative equipment and furniture, but also renovation of the premises that will accommodate the laboratory, the Ministry of Defense said in a press release.
Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatii noted that this is not the first instance of assistance provided by the OSCE Mission and Austria in various projects related to physical security and management of arms and ammunition stocks.
“The specialized laboratory equipment will be of great help to specialists working in the field, and at the same time will have a considerable role in the safety of the civilian population and the protection of the environment,” said the minister. He added that it is an opportunity to bring back to the attention of the national and international community the efforts of the Ministry of Defense in reducing the risk of an uncontrolled explosion at the ammunition storage sites.
The donation took place within the projects that are carried out according to the National Army Action Plan for 2020-2024 in the field of physical security and stockpile management of small arms, light weapons and conventional ammunition and is intended for the National Army Weapons and Ammunition Center.
