The Moldovan authorities and the Transnistrian administration are urged by the OSCE Chairmanship to meet at the negotiations in the 1+1 format and within working groups and agree the agenda of a possible meeting in the 5+2 format, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Transnistrian Settlement Process Ambassador Radojko Bogojević said after a meeting with acting Prime Minister Natalia Gherman held in Chisinau. A day earlier, Radojko Bogojevic met with the Transnistrian leader Yevgeny Shevchuk in Tiraspol, IPN reports.
Radojko Bogokevic said that during the tour he made to discuss with the sides involved in the negotiations in the 5+2 format, everyone reiterated their readiness to have discussions. Now everything depends on those from the right and left banks of the Nistru, who should agree a new meeting. He went to Tiraspol and Chisinau to transmit a letter by which the sides are urged to resume the dialogue. The OSCE Ministerial Council will have a meeting in December and things should move on by then. Official discussions in the 5+2 format haven’t been held since last spring.
Asked if the absence of a functional Government affects the relations between Chisinau and Tiraspol, the ambassador said that he didn’t see something like this, while Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov is very devoted to this process even if he now holds the post on an interim basis. Radojko Bogojević voiced hope that the Moldovan leaders will soon invest the new Government.
