Orphans will go to theater on June 1
On the International Children’s Day marked on June 1, about 500 orphans and children that remained without parental care from Chisinau will go to see a performance at “Luceafarul” Theater. At Monday’s meeting of the Chisinau City Hall, Svetlana Chifa, head of the Children’s Rights Protection Division, said that increased attention this year will be devoted to the children from community centers, Info-Prim Neo reports.
An artistic program will be prepared for children that are supervised by inspectorates for minors, those from socially-vulnerable families and placement centers. The activities will be carried out in Stephan the Great Public Garden between 11.00 and 17.00, Svetlana Chifa said.
A roundtable meeting themed “Role of Local Public Administration and Civil Society in Ensuring the Respect for Children’s Rights” will be held at the City Hall. The meeting will also discuss the observance of children’s rights after the April 7 events, Svetlana Chifa has told Info-Prim Neo.
On the same day, the boarding school graduates will have a meeting with the Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca. They will receive by 3,000 lei in aid. The money will be allocated from the municipal social support fund.
Svetlana Chifa said that the children will also benefit from tickets to summer camps. But she did not say how many children.
According to the head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, the repair works in the four summer camps administered by the Division are being completed. Tender contests will be held this week to select other summer camps where the children could rest.
Over 23,000 children from the municipality of Chisinau will spend the summer vacation in camps this year.
