Origin of meat used by Ciocana kindergartens will be determined in a week
The results of the laboratory tests on the meat seized at kindergarten “Foisor” situated in Chisinau's Ciocana district will be available in seven days. Officers of the Anticorruption Center inspected the kindergarten last week after informed that the children there are fed with horse meat instead of beef, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In the meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials on September 13, Tatiana Nagnibeda Tverdohleb, the head of the Division of Education, Youth and Sport, said the company that supplied food products to nine kindergartens in Ciocana district will be obliged to stop work.
Constantin Ramis, the head of the Municipal Center of Preventive Medicine, said the company has violated the regulations concerning the storing and transporting of food products. The truck that conveyed the meat did not have a fridge, while the driver could not show a sanitary certificate for the goods. The meat was packed in polyethylene sacks.
Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca instructed all the divisions, especially the Eduction Division, to step up inspections at kindergartens. “I ask to be informed about any deviation. The contracts with the companies that do not observe the sanitary norms must be terminated,” he said.
