The Organ Hall has opened the session that will mark its 35th anniversary and the 25th anniversary of the creation of the National Chamber Orchestra. The inaugural concert on September 15 is dedicated to these two anniversaries, Organ Hall director Larisa Zubco said in a news conference, quoted by IPN.
The opening concert will be given in the open air, in the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral. The program will involve the National Chamber Orchestra, the National Chamber Choir, the ensemble “Concertino”, soloists Ilian Garnet, Anna Strezeva, Ion Negura, and Ion Josan.
Soloist Anna Strezeva has worked at the Organ Hall for 32 years. She said that the greatest concerts were held at the Organ Hall in the period. The best artists performed on its stage that becomes more famous.
Violoncellist Ion Josan said the Organ Hall is one of the most beautiful in Europe. He remembered that the money for building the hall was identified in 1978 and the sum represented half of the then budget of Moldova.
First conductor of the National Chamber Orchestra Cristian Florea said that the Organ Hall is now in a bad state and a call should be made to civil society to collect money for renovating it. The hall’s organ is one of the best in Europe and it would be a disaster to lose it.
In 1975-1978, the building of the former City Bank was reconstructed and adjusted for chamber and organ music concerts. The organ in Chisinau was played for the first time on September 15, 1978, in the concert held to inaugurate the building.
