Four organists who performed with the Moldovan Organ Hall in different times in its 30-year history offered on Wednesday an exceptional show to the music lovers in Chisinau. Jana Tudose, a spokesperson for the Organ Hall, has told Info-Prim Neo that the four musicians – Svetlana Bodiu, Marina Zagorschi, Olga Babagean and Ana Strezev – came out in succession on the stage to offer the 500 spectators memorable creations by Bach, Tchaikovsky, Liszt and Messiaen. Tudose says that thanks to Mobiasbanca, which sponsored the travel of Svetlana Bodiul from Malta, of Marina Zagorschi from Germany and of Olga Babagean from Romania, it was possible to stage such an unforgettable show as part of the festival dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Organ Hall. Jana Tudose also informed that music lovers will be able to enjoy Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, performed by the Chamber Choir of the Organ Hall, conducted by Ilona Stepan. This version for choir will also feature percussion instruments and 2 pianos, with Anatol Lapicus and Iurie Mahovic playing them. The closing concert of the festival will be an open-air event that will start at 19:00 on September 20. The concert will be held in the plaza adjoining the Organ Hall and Mobiasbanca, which the latter generously offered for the night. The show will feature, among others, violinist Ion Josan, who performed at the inauguration of the Organ Hall on September 16, 30 years ago. The Organ Hall in Chisinau is a unique concert hall in Europe, due to its impressive, ornamented outer appearance, fine acoustics, and location in the heart of the city. The building was constructed in 1901 by architectures Seidevan and Bernardarzzi for a bank. In 1978, at the insistence of his daughter Svetlana, the then president of the Moldavian Communist Party Ivan Bodiul transformed the building into an organ hall. The organ inside has 4,000 pipes and 41 stops and was manufactured by the Czech firm Rieger-Kloss.
