The restoration of the Chisinau Organ Hall's dome will be completed by the end of the year. The job, that includes repairing the ventilation and air conditioning systems, will cost the state 1.79 million lei. Sergiu Cherdivara, specialist at the Ministry of Culture's Patrimony Division, said the complete restoration of the Organ Hall will be done in four stages, and this year's works represent the first stage. The restoration of the dome has been delayed because the required project documentation wasn't ready. At the second stage, scheduled for 2013, it is planned to repair water supply, sewer and heat supply piping. Nearly 2 million lei has been already earmarked from the State Budget for this purpose. Facades and the territory outside the Hall will be renovated as part of the third stage, in 2014. Asked whether the street artists and souvenir vendors in the square nearby will be left to stay when the renovation advances to the third stage, Sergiu Cherdivara said no plans for their evacuation has been discussed.
