Organ Hall announces second International Festival “J.S. Bach”
The second International Festival “Johann Sebastian Bach” will take place at the Organ Hall on April 4 – 10. It will include seven concerts dedicated exclusively to the work of the German composer and organist, who is considered one of the greatest musicians of the world, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The first concert will be given by the National Chamber Orchestra, directed by conductor Cristian Florea, on April 4. The concert’s special invitee is Italian pianist Simone Pedroni, who will give two piano recitals. The program also includes a concert for three violins played by Olga Semionova, Viorica Cheptene, and Irina Caraghenova.
Students of Chisinau high schools and music schools will hold a concert themed “The children sing Bach” on April 6. An organ recital will be given by Hungarian organist Laszlo Fassang on April 8, when it is celebrated Palm Sunday.
On April 5, 7 and 9, Master Cristian Florea will perform suites for violoncello and sonatas for violoncello and harpsichord.
The festival ends on April 10 with a premiere of “Saint John Passion”, under the direction of Patrick Strub from Germany. This oratorio is usually performed on Black Friday of the Holy Week.
“Together with the Organ Hall, we want to make this festival last and to bring new names, new works and new artists. The fact that we organize this festival in spring is significant as the people need sensations, emotions in this season and this is an opportunity for them to get feelings,” said Sanda Filat, under whose aegis the festival is held.
A ticket costs 30 to 60 lei. Those who want to see all the seven concerts of the festival can buy a season ticket to benefit from discounts.
The event is organized in partnership with the State Agency on Intellectual Property, the Goethe Cultural Institute and the Embassies of Germany, Hungary, and Italy in Chisinau.
