The State Hydrometeorological Service has issued an orange code advisory for heavy snow in the central and southern districts, where the layer of snow is expected to reach 7-17 centimeters. The warning covers the period between January 6 and 8. There will be snowstorms and snow piles will form in the period, IPN reports.
The orange code means dangerous meteorological conditions that can cause significant damage and even casualties.
The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service warns the drivers to appropriately equip their motor vehicles and put a shovel, sand and chains in the car. The cell phone battery should be charged so as to be able to call the 901 service in an emergency.
The State Road Administration calls on the motorist who will experience an emergency situation to call (022) 74-89-61, which will be active through winter.
