Opposition Party accuses President of power usurpation
The group led by Vladimir Voronin commits gross acts which can be qualified as usurpation of the people’s sovereignty and contemptuous attitude towards the Constitution, is said in a statement of the Parliamentary faction of Moldova Noastra Alliance read by the MP Alexandru Lipcan before Parliament on Friday, February 16.
According to the statement, the communist leader does not even hide the fact that he is the master of the puppets.
As an argument it was brought the meeting of the Supreme Security Council held on December 22, where 2 issues were discussed. The first one related to the use of lands and second – the participation of Moldovan military forces in the post-conflict actions in Iraq. In fact, the President said that SSC is a consultative body which presents recommendations to the President of Moldova.
According to the statement, the agenda of the Security Council for December 22 shows the following method: a general topic is chosen out of the interests promoted by the groups behind the government, such as the use of lands. “First of all ,the scheme for satisfying these interests is worked out – for example, identification and elimination of all kind of competitors, legal and illegal, central and local – including large companies with foreign capital and small thieves. Afterwards the issue is transformed into a security problem, even if it is about small stone pits or businesses, which are interesting for the communist capitalists. The issue was made to sound this way – “ensuring the legal character, economic and ecological security in the field of land use”. The final part is an abusive decision of the SSC approved by everyone: Prime Minister, Prosecutor General, mayor and district police officers”.
“Moldova Noastra” Alliance considers the decision of the SSC as an example when the personal cult is applied. It breaks the democratic system. The Constitution and the Law on Government stipulates that only the Government is responsible of the internal and foreign policy and only in front of the Parliament. The usurpation of the state power is qualified as the most serious crime against the people and is a real problem, which affects the national security, is said in the statement.
