Some experts consider that the Government rejected the legislative package for reforming the national integrity system in order to protect their own interests, while others think that it is a short delay for improving it. The contradictory opinions were stated in the talk show “Politics” on TV 7 cannel, IPN reports.
The leader of the People’s Movement “Antimafie” Sergiu Mocanu believes the members of the Cabinet pursued particular goals. “They will vote nothing that can endanger their illegal activities,” he stated.
Constitutional law expert Vitalie Catana considers the Government acted correctly when it rejected the legislative package for reforming the integrity system. “We already have a precedent with the Law on the Testing of the Integrity of Public Servants, half of which was annulled by the Constitutional Court. Sometimes, besides political will, one also needs knowledge. The voting of these bills was postponed in order to make some changes,” said Catana.
Head of the Public Association “Justice and Democracy” Pavel Midrigan thinks the rulers decided to delay things. “These bills will be ultimately voted as they do not have a choice. We have waited for two years and will wait for another several months,” he stated.
In its last meeting on June 16, the Gaburici Government rejected the package of draft laws referring to the national integrity system. The given package includes the bill on the declaration of property and personal interests, the bill on the National Integrity Center and the bill to amend a number of legal acts. It supplements the package of anticorruption regulations that forms part of the justice sector reform strategy for 2011-2016 and its plan of action.
