Activist Andrei Donica, who was recently elected president of the sociopolitical party Professionals’ Movement “Speranța-Nadejda”, calls on civic activists to run in the upcoming parliamentary elections under a common list. In a news conference at IPN, Andrei Donica said anyone who is not a party member will be able to run on the ticket of the Professionals’ Movement “Speranța-Nadejda” and the order on the list will depend on the number of signatures in support collected by the aspirants.
Andrei Donica said the civic activists and opinion leaders should become involved in politics regardless of their ethnicity, spoken language or embraced ideological views. The opposition political parties that say they want civic activists, honest persons on their lists are lying. In reality these want their lists to consist of persons who assume commitments before them. The integrity filters that some of the political parties promote will not produce results. If they are applied correctly, 95% of the politicians risk not passing these tests.
“I filed an application to the Coalition for a Clean Parliament a month ago so as to take the integrity test, but received no answer. I also waited for an invitation from political parties, but didn’t get one. The political parties want to promote the own interests and candidates. They actually do not need upright persons,” stated the activist.
Andrei Donica said the national list of the Professionals’ Movement “Speranța-Nadejda” will consist only of persons who will accept to run in single-member constituencies. If there are several candidates for one single-member constituency, there will be supported the candidate with the largest number of signatures. This will make the candidates communicate more with voters.
The activist also said the party prepared a mechanism that will oblige the MPs who entered Parliament being at the top of the national list to concede the seat to their colleagues who obtained more votes in single-member constituencies. Also, the persons who will be elected MPs on the national list will have to vacate the seats if they defect from the party.
