The operational period of the IT Park of the Republic of Moldova will be extended until 2035 by keeping the single tax of 7%. Parliament gave a second reading to a bill to amend the law on information technology parks, IPN reports.

The list of eligible types of activity is to also be extended. With limitations on export, it will be possible to run call centers and to provide labor supply services.

A Board will be constituted to coordinate the work of the IT Park. It will consist of representatives of the Government, the NGO sector, residents of the Park and also of the development partners.

The IT Park of the Republic of Moldova started work on January 1, 2018. Under the legislation, its operational period cannot exceed 10 years, i.e. December 31, 2027.

At the end of last year, over 1,300 companies were residents of the IT Park, including numerous foreign investors from 39 countries. 5% of the resident companies of the IT Park provide 57% of the jobs in the IT sector. The turnover for 2022 shows total revenues of about 13.6 billion lei.
