Through the opera “Paiate“ (I Pagliacci) by Ruggero Leoncavallo, directed by People’s Artist Eugen Platon, the troupe of the National Opera ends the 49th theatrical season. The event is scheduled for 7 June 2007. It will start at 18.00, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to sources in the National Opera House, the people’s artist, tenor Mihai Munteanu will play the leading part. There will also perform the masters of arts Rodica Picireanu, Petru Racovita, Iurie Gisca, and Anatol Arcea. Master of Arts Nicolae Dohotaru will be the conductor. The scenography belongs to Veaceslav Ocunev and Irina Press. The new, 50th season will be inaugurated in October, when the first lyrical stage in Moldova will celebrate 50 years of the foundation. The jubilee will be observed through an opera and ballet gala that will include three premieres. At 50 years, the Lyrical Theater will present the two-act play Don Giovanni by Mozart to lovers of music. It is directed by Master of Arts Eleonora Constantinov, scenographer Irina Press. Nicolae Dohotaru will conduct. The lovers of lyrical dance will have the possibility of watching the ballet Luceafarul by Eugen Doga, choreography Gheorghi Covtun, scenography Roman Ivanov, both from Saint Petersburg, conductor Nicolae Dohotaru, as well as Requiem by Mozart in ballet version. Boris Eifman from Saint Petersburg is the choreographer and People’s Artist Alexandru Samoila the conductor. Meanwhile, the ballet artists from Chisinau, Cristina and Alexei Terentiev, are participating in the International Ballet Galas held at the Bucharest Opera, alongside prestigious artists from Romania, the US, Bulgaria.
