The people will be able to sunbathe in Valea Morilor Park this year, but swimming will be possible in several months, until the lake fills with water. “The beach, as we see it here, cannot be used yet, as more water is needed,” said Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca, who Thursday went to the park to see how the lake was rehabilitated and laid out, Info-Prim Neo reports. The mayor said the accumulation of water in the lake depends on the weather conditions. “It is important that the water has where to gather,” said the mayor. Dorin Chirtoaca said the first two stages of the project – to remove the mud and to lay out the lake – were completed successfully. The mechanism for removing the mud from the bottom of the lake was installed and the banks of the River Nagornyi were reinforced. There are two more stages to be implemented – to lay out the park and to reopen the facilities working in the area. The works to clan the lake in Valea Morilor Park were started in October 2006. In 2010, there was used about 20 million lei from the local budget.
