Only MoI and MoD allowed to have special car plates
Only the Ministry of the Interior and that of Defense will have vehicles with special plates, according to a Government decision adopted on Thursday, June 24. The move still needs the Parliament's endorsement, Info-Prim Neo reports.
State Minister Victor Bodiu initially suggested special car plates should be assigned only to the President, the Prime Minister and the Speaker. However, PM Vlad Filat stressed traffic rules should be respected by everyone, no matter their functions. He was confident dignitaries could do well without special car plates.
“Over the last days I’ve been driving my personal car, which doesn’t have any special plates, and nothing terrible happened”, the prime minister said.
Although many members of the Government doubt the MPs will approve the move, the bill has been submitted to Parliament for consideration.
