For all the citizens to feel fine in Moldova, all the co-existing ethnic groups must be united, must understand each other and must live in peace, said Head of Parliament Igor Corman, who discussed with representatives of the Russian and Belarusian communities the situation of the national minorities, observance of their rights, promotion of tolerance in society and the importance of the state policies on the support for the ethnic minorities in keeping their language and continuing their traditions, IPN reports.
“Only together, in peace and understanding, can we create conditions for all the people to feel well in Moldova. There is only one method by which we can develop our country – by strengthening society,” said the Speaker.
The meeting forms part of the series of consultations held by the Head of Parliament before the first forum of the national minorities of Moldova. The event will take place in Chisinau on September 18, under the patronage of Igor Corman.
According to the Speaker, the forum of ethnic minorities of Moldova represents an opportunity for changing the approaches as regards the state policies on the assistance provided to the ethnic minorities in preserving their language and continuing their traditions.
