Iurie Leanca is the only loser and person to blame for the non-investiture of the Government, considers the leader of the political party People’s Movement “Antimafie” Sergiu Mocanu. In a news conference at IPN on February 16, Mocanu said that early elections could take place in June given the current political crisis.
Sergiu Mocanu blames Iurie Leanca for asking for support from the Communists instead of coming to terms with the Liberals. “Leanca’s game of a coward led to the situation when Moldova has no chance of being integrated into the EU and of overcoming the current political and economic crisis. The blame for the non-investiture of the Leanca Government is borne by Leanca himself,” he said.
The leader of “Antimafie” also said that Leanca’s behavior shows that he is being blackmailed by the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat and the first deputy chairman of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc. “Iurie Leanca is the only loser in this situation, while his weak character and the elements of blackmail used against him led to this not only uncertain, but also very dangerous situation for Moldova,” he stated.
According to Sergiu Mocanu, the only obstacle now is acting Minister of Education Maia Sandu because the Party of Communists will not agree that she forms part of the new Cabinet too. Early elections could be held in June as this is suitable for some of the politicians.
Sergiu Mocanu noted that the People’s Movement “Antimafie” will mount protests in front of the Parliament Building.
