Acting mayor Silvia Radu was registered as an independent candidate in the new local mayoral elections that will take place in Chisinau on May 20. The decision was taken by the Chisinau District Electoral Council on April 24. Silvia Radu is the ninth electoral candidate registered, IPN reports.

The following applicants have been registered so far: Vasile Costiuc, of the Party “Democracy at Home”; Andrei Nastase, of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth”; Alexandr Roshko, of the Party “Our Home – Moldova”; Reghina Apostolova, of the Shor Party; Valeriu Munteanu, of the Liberal Party; Ion Ceban, of the Party of Socialists, and Victor Stratila, of the Green Ecologist Party.

These were also registered: Maxim Braila, of the People’s Party; Alexandra Can, of the National Liberal Party; Alexandru Matu, of the Russian-Slavic Party, and Constantin Codreanu, of the National Unity Party.

Applicant Andrei Munteanu, of the Progressive Society Party, is waiting for the decision of the Electoral Council.
