Only differentiated taxation can be an alternative to entrepreneur’s patent, opinion

The differentiated taxation is the only alternative to entrepreneur’s patent as the markets and the volume of merchandise are different and not everyone is in similar positions, Eleonora Țurcanu-Herghelegiu, the member of a group of patent holders, stated in a news conference hosted by IPN. The traders are against the switchover from patent to individual activity with a cash register.

Eleonora Țurcanu-Herghelegiu formulated a number of proposals that, as she considers, will enable to legalize the underground economy. Among these are offering the possibility of starting a small business based on patent to each citizen, reviewing the point concerning social insurance from the law on the entrepreneur’s patent and excluding the time limit for work based on the entrepreneur’s patent.

According to the trader, the cash register is not an alternative to patent holders and the state always does experiments on them. The former mates who switched over to independent activity after January 1 were to change the accounting method and to implement the electronic method, but they didn’t manage to. They were then told that they will switch over to a new form of activity as from July 1. Those who perform individual activities receive letters from local tax inspectorates by which they were informed that they are obliged to replace the cash register. “This activity that implies the use of cash registers is not a social guarantee for us,” stated Eleonora Țurcanu-Herghelegiu.

“These humiliated persons have to only resort to civil disobedience if the patents are not extended. “Before taking the bread and source of revenue from the people, they should provide an alternative,” said Olga Chapki, a patent holder. She said that in a state with the rule of law, which claims to be European, opposition should exist in each village and each home so as to identify the problems faced by the citizens and to sound the alarm.

“Where do you want to get to, Mister Alaiba (minister of economy)? To peasant farmsteads that sell the goods cultivated at home? To beauty salons, to women who do manicure or to men who repair shoes? Are the interests of foreign business entities more important that the revenues of the own citizens?”, asked municipal councilor Ruslan Verbitski, who is also a patent holder.
