The vaccine against seasonal flu appeared in drugstores in Bender last weekend, but doctors of the Hygiene and Epidemiology Center recommend not purchasing and administering it by oneself. Dmitri Chirsta, senior doctor at the Hygiene and Epidemiology Center in Bender, said that a number of transportation and storage rules should be observed for the vaccine to be effective and not to cause side effects. According to the Bender-based company Provizor, about 300 vaccines against seasonal flu are on sale from the drugstores of the town. As many as 1,600 cases of acute viral infections and one case of seasonal flu have been recorded in Bender. 50% of the sick persons are children. No pandemic flu case has been reported in the town during the last three weeks, Chirsta said.
