Almost 18% of the voters know the MPs elected in the single-member constituencies of which they form part. A survey carried out by the platform for monitoring the fulfillment of electoral promises deFacto.md shows the voters in the largest municipalities of the country – Chisinau and Bălți – know the MPs elected in their constituencies the least, IPN reports.

The most known MPs elected in single-member constituencies, who are recognized by 35% of the voters, are: Aliona Pilipetskaya, constituency No.7, Eleonora Graur, constituency No. 13, Liviu Vovc, constituency No. 22, and Ion Groza, constituency No. 43.

Of the 11 MPs elected in the single-member constituencies of the municipality of Chisinau, Vasile Bolea, of constituency No. 24, is the best known MP (20%). The least known MP is Iurie Reniță, of constituency No. 26 (0%).

Some 6.4% of the respondents named at least one electoral promise made by the MP elected in their constituency, which not necessarily coincided with the provisions of their electoral programs. Most often, the voters named the general priorities of a party, such as road repair, workplaces, higher pensions and street lighting.

Also, 2.7% of those surveyed named some of the measures taken by the MP during the tenure, but these were not necessarily related to their electoral programs. However, most of these named either actions taken by the local public authorities or by MPs chosen in constituencies, but before these were elected as MPs, when holding administrative posts, such as mayor and district council head.

The survey was carried out in July – December 2019 in 45 single-member constituencies, except for the constituencies on the left side of the Nistru, those established outside the country and constituency No. 17, where the seat of MP was vacant when the poll was conducted. It covered 4,696 respondents from 177 localities, by an average of 104 respondents in each constituency.
