The order to enroll children in the first grade hasn’t been yet issued by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research even if President Igor Dodon last week announced that he will order to reanimate the online school enrolment platforms. Contacted by IPN for a comment, acting head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of Chisinau Andrei Pavaloi said the procedure includes not only online enrolment, but also the placing of particular documents in the system, such as the medical certificate. Later the file is presented by the person to the selected institution.

“Given the created situation, the Ministry of Education put off the enrolment in the first grade and the order will be probably issued after May 15, when we will have clarity as to the state of emergency in our country,” stated Andrei Pavaloi.

He also said that the platform is ready for accepting applications into the system. The process of registering children in the first grade will be rather easy and the parents will not have to form lines. The documents will be taken to the education institution after these are accepted online.

In other years, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research issued the order to enroll the children in a school at the start of April and the online enrolment process was initiated also then.
