Applications for obtaining Romanian nationality can be now submitted only after scheduling appointments with the local offices in Romania online. The last office that accepts applications without making appointments beforehand – the one based in Bucharest – from May 22 switches over to online appointments through www.cetatenie.just.ro, IPN reports, quoting the National Citizenship Authority of Romania.

According to the National Citizenship Authority, the number of available online appointments for submitting applications to the office in Bucharest was increased to 350 a working day. The list of scheduled persons will be posted on the Authority’s website at least seven days before the appointment day. The list will also be available at the head office of the National Citizenship Authority.

The local offices in Galati, Iasi and Suceava started to accept applications based on online appointments on May 2.

In Moldova, applications for obtaining Romanian nationality are filed to the offices in Balti and Cahul also based on online appointments. In Chisinau, appointments can be still made by phone or at the office.
