A boy aged one year and six months died after his father who was reversing his car went over the kid as he didn’t notice him, IPN reports.

The General Police Inspectorate said the tragedy occurred in Corten village of Taraclia district on Friday morning. An ambulance was called out, but all doctors’ efforts to resuscitate the child failed and the boy died on the way to the hospital.

An investigation is under way to determine all the circumstances of this case.

Specialists warn drivers to be maximally careful when there are children nearby and to make sure there is no one behind when backing up as the rear view mirrors do not enable to see kids given that they are small in height.
