As of 2022, the one-off childbirth benefit will be 10,068 lei, up 609 lei, as a draft decision approved by the Government on December 29 provides, IPN reports.

Vasile Cușca, secretary of state at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, said the decision forms part of the priorities of the Government’s program “Moldova in Good Times”. One of the general development objectives is to increase the childbirth benefit so as to pursue a broad policy of support for families with children.

The money was earmarked in the 2022 state budget. It is intimated that 36 245 children will get one-off childbirth benefit in 2022.
