The one-off childbirth allowance is increased by 9,068 lei to 20,000 lei as from January 1, 2024, as a Government decision approved on Thursday provides, IPN reports.
The National House of Social Insurance estimated that over 33,000 families will benefit from such an allowance in 2024.
Another measure concerns adoptive parents, who from 2024 will receive three new benefits. It goes to the one-off allowance for the period of custody over the adoptable child, the one-off allowance for the adopted child and the benefit for raising the child older than 3 years, said Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu.
