One of the minors who committed Straseni murder charged with two more counts

One of the minors convicted of the murder of the 14-year-old girl from Straseni town will be tried on two more counts: violent acts of a sexual character and insubordination to the penitentiary’s administration. According to the prosecution, in November – December 2017, the young man held at penitentiary No. 13 in Chisinau sexually abused a cell mate and urged other mates to do the same, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Prosecutor General’s Office said that on January 1 the minor incited detainees to group disobedience, insulting the jail’s employees. He later hit two guards with a metal object and then hit with his leg one more prison officer after his hands were tied.

The prosecutors completed the investigation and sent the cases against the minor and his accomplices to court. They face 12 years behind bars.

The crime in Straseni was committed in November 2016. The Straseni Court sentenced three minors to six years and eight months in jail. The Appeals Court gave two more years to one of these and one more year to the other two. The fourth minor wasn’t jailed as this wasn’t 14 when the crime was committed.
