The MP Vitalia Pavlicenco considers that what she called “the liquidation of the public radio and TV stations “Antena C” and “Euro TV” is an result of the approval by the Parliament of the Broadcasting Code. In a statement sent on Saturday, December 23 to Info-Prim Neo the MP qualifies the new law as “a fake document, meant to ensure the domination of the communists over the public media of Moldova to the prejudice of democracy and of the correct informating of the population. According to the statement, the case of “Antena C” and “Euro TV” shows the Communist-Christian Democrat demagogy as regards the good influence of the partnership from April 4, 2005 over the Europeanization process of Moldova. The so-called reorganisation process of these stations is in fact a method of liquidating them through a privatisation controlled through different levers, including through the broadcast licenses, fact that cancels the objective character and the loyal concurrence in transactions. According to the MP, the throttle of the municipal stations, together with the planned suspension of the live transmission of Parliament’s sittings, discloses the antidemocratic character of the red-orange political regime. This political concubinage became the main danger for the democratic and European future of Moldova, Pavlicenco states. She categorically disagrees with these actions and urges the political forces and the civil society of Moldova to oppose to the phenomenon she qualifies as “onslaught of the authoritarian communist regime against the fundamental human rights and freedoms”. Pavlicenco proposes the creation of an Observance Committee on the sell-purchase process of the public stations. According to her the Committee should include the experts of the Council of Europe, European Union – international structures with diplomatic representatives in Chisinau. The MP considers necessary to create a Committee on the coordination of the actions of the opposition, in order to organise a resistance against the antidemocratic actions of the government coalition. Also, Vitalia Pavlicenco proposes to institute moratorium over the decisions of the Municipal Council related to “Antena C” and Euro TV” and to organise a referendum in Chisinau as regards the further destiny of the institutions that could be organised during the local elections in order to avoid significant expenses. Afterwards, on the base of referendum’s results to decide over other actions, including the amendment of the present legislation is said in the statement of the MP.
