One more candidate for post of Bashkan withdraws

Serghei Buzadji withdrew from the electoral race for the post of Bashkan (Governor) of Gagauzia. He submitted a relevant application to the Comrat Election Commission.

The Commission’s head Valentin Cara has told IPN that the application will be examined in the March 13 meeting. No serious violations have been detected so far in the election campaign. Data are now been collected from settlements to determine the necessary number of ballots and decide the language in which they will be printed.

The electoral race will thus involve ten contenders, namely Valerii Ianioglo, Ruslan Garbaly, Nicolae Dudoglo, Irina Vlah, Oleg Garizan, Alexandru Stoianoglo, Serghei Chernev, Dumitru Croitor, Ilia Anastasov, and Leonid Dobrov. Earlier, the race was abandoned by Oleg Kaiky.

The first round of elections in Gagauzia will take place on March 22. The second round, if it’s necessary, will be held in April 5.
