One Moldovan boxer continues fight in World Boxing Championship

The last two representatives of Moldova who entered the ring at the World Boxing Championship in Italy suffered defeats in the debut matches, Info-Prim Neo reports. Vladimir Cheles (81 kg class) and Mihail Muntean (91kg class) were defeated by Algeria s Abdelhafid Benchabla by 20-1 and, respectively, by Syria s Mohammad Ghosson by 8-4. The Moldovan boxer Veaceslav Gojan (54kg class), who won bronze at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, was eliminated from the competition by China s Gu Yu. Only Victor Cotiujanschi (75kg class) remained in the competition. In 1/8 finals, he will face Australia s Damian Hooper. The fifteenth edition of the World Boxing Championship held in Milan brought together more than 500 boxers from 143 countries.
