The last-year potatoes are still popular in some wholesale markets in Moldova, experts of the “AGROinform” farmers federation find. According to them, they are bought by Moldovan farmers mostly, who plan to plant them again to have fresh potatoes in fall, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from agravista.md portal. The old potatoes were sold this week in Balti and Chisinau wholesale markets at 2.2 – 5 lei per kg, depending on their size. At the same time, the price of fresh potatoes varied between 3 and 6 lei per kg, depending on area. The most expensive fresh potatoes were sold on the market in Ungheni town, while the cheapest were in Cahul, where the market offered both Moldovan and Romanian potatoes.
