A person perished and another four suffered injuries in a road accident near Zahareuca village of Telenesti district on January 21. A freight minibus collided with a car.

Contacted by IPN, press officer of the National Patrolling Inspectorate Natalia Golovko said the preliminary examinations showed the 22-year-old driver of the car didn’t make sure it is safe and accelerated, losing control of the vehicle. This passed to the contraflow lane where it was struck laterally by the minibus.

As a result of the collision, the car passenger aged 22 died. Both of the drivers and two minibus passengers were transported to the Telenesti District Hospital with different traumas.

Two teams of the Emergencies Service and ambulances of the 903 Service travelled to the scene. The firemen washed the roadway, removed the clamps of the damaged batteries and towed away the vehicles involved in the accident.
