A person died and 10 were traumatised in 8 road accidents that occurred on Saturday and Sunday in Chisinau. According Chisinau Road Safety Service Inspector Ion Roscovanu, the most severe car crash occurred on Saturday, at 22.30, on Balcani motorway. An Opel-Astra, driven by a man aged 30, heavily injured a pedestrian, 49, that died on Sunday morning in the intensive care section of the Emergency Hospital. The same day, at 15.00 at the crossroad of Stefan cel Mare Boulevard and Ismail St., a BMW car, driven by a man, 31, injured a young girl, aged 12. The victim was hospitalised with a head trauma, concussion and soft tissue injuries. At 1.00, on the Sihastrului St., a Mazda vehicle driven by a drunken 32-years-old man and a Dacia-Logan collided. As a result, the passenger of Mazda, aged 23, also intoxicated, got a head trauma. The passengers of Dacia were also hurt – a young man, 28, suffered a brain concussion and a forehead bruise. Police officers fined in the reported period 54 drivers under the influence of alcohol.
