One in Three Transnistrian Buses Unsafe
One in three vehicles used in the Transnistrian region for public passenger transportation has been classified as not meeting safety standards, following a general inspection promoted by a road accident on February 11, when six persons burnt to death inside a public passenger minibus, Info-Prim Neo's correspondent in Tiraspol reports.
The accident occurred in Slobozia district on a route operated by the transport company Express-Auto.
According to Veaceslav Ilinitski, senior investigation officer in the region, preliminary inquiries into the accident showed that almost all the vehicles operated by that company didn't meet basic standards. Its managers and technical supervisors are now in custody.
