The10-th edition of the International Children Book Exhibition is making itself conspicuous by the increased diversity of book titles - over 8,000, presented by near 100 publishing-houses from 8 countries: Moldova, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, France, Germany and China. The chairman of the National Association of the International Children and Youth Book Council, Claudia Balaban, reported that within the Exhibition will be launched over 70 new book titles. She also noted that at the current edition will be organized a book donation act for orphans, called “I have a book for you”. Every child-visitor will get a book for free. The big surprise of the Exhibition is “Domnita-Pastorita”, written by Claudia Partole. Organizers wish to distribute 15,000 copies of this book, due to financial support of several sponsors, including the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, Chisinau Mayoralty, the publishing-house Prut International, etc. Parliament’s speaker Marian Lupu said in his message addressed to the children: „winners in life are only those who regard books as their friends since childhood. Everyone must realize the value of books; from children to adults. Childhood is a fertile ground where interest and love for knowledge are rooted. A book means a starting point for the society’s elites, culture, education and science representatives”.
