A man was rescued by firefighters from his apartment, which caught fire on Friday morning. The man slightly got poisoned by fumes and received medical care on the spot, refusing hospitalization. The fire occurred on the first floor of a five-story apartment building in Balti municipality, IPN reports.

Three crews of firefighters and rescuers intervened and in less than half an hour managed to extinguish the fire and stop it from spreading to neighboring apartments. Fifteen residents, including two children, were urgently evacuated from the building. None of them was hurt.

Inside the apartment, with an area of 27 square meters, the goods in the hallway burned down. Specialists of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations are to determine the cause of fire.

During only 24 hours, the rescuers dealt with 25 high-risk situations, the Inspectorate noted.
