A house on Vasile Lupu Street in Chisinau's Buiucani district has burned to the ground and a house nearby burned partially in a fire that erupted on Thursday night. The owned of the first house, aged 49, was found dead under the ruins. Liliana Puscasu, spokesperson for the Emergency Situations and Civil Protection Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the firemen were notified around 8 PM. Five fire engines were dispatched and it took the fire fighters more than 4 hours to put out the flames. The source of the fire is yet unidentified, and fire safety inspectors are now working on the site trying to determine the exact circumstances. 93 people and 5 children have lost their lives in the 1560 fires that occurred in Moldova from the beginning of the year.
