A man aged 18 died when the car in which he travelled skidded off the road and ended up in a ditch on the outskirts of Cucioaia village of Telenesti district at about 2am last night. Another four young men, among whom the driver, were taken to the hospital with injuries.

Diana Maxim, press officer of the Telenesti Police Inspectorate, has told IPN that the car was driven by a man aged 23, who was allegedly inebriated. The driver lost control of the car and this left the road.

The four men who were injured are aged between 18 and 23. Their life is out of danger.

The driver is to be subject to an alcohol test to see if he was under the influence. The police started a criminal case.
