A 47-year-old woman died last night in a road accident near the village of Răscăieţii Noi in Ștefan Vodă.district. Five other people, including a 12-year-old child, were taken to the hospital, IPN reports.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, the 47-year-old woman was a passenger in a Mercedes Vito driven by a 64-year-old man, a citizen of Ukraine. The driver went out the wrong way and collided his vehicle head-on with a Mercedes E300 coming from the opposite direction. Two men, aged 33 and 49, and a 12-year-old minor were also in the car. All the passengers were citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The struck car was driven by a 60-year-old man, who had a 57-year-old woman as a passenger. Following the impact, the passenger in the Mercedes Vito died on the spot, while the other passengers in both cars, including the Ukrainian driver, were transported to the Ștefan Vodă District Hospital with various injuries.

A criminal case was initiated on this case to establish all the circumstances.
