Moldovagaz has submitted to the National Agency for Energy Regulation a request to increase the natural gas tariff by almost 40%, about 4 lei more for a cubic meter, starting December 1.
The request comes amid an increase in prices on the international market, the source says. The National Energy Regulatory Agency will consider the request at its meeting on Wednesday, November 27.
Earlier, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that the authorities have the obligation to provide Moldovan citizens with the cheapest gas on the market.
