On Sunday, March 2, when the 33rd anniversary of the Nistru War will be celebrated, the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova will be honored throughout the country. "Let us remember this lesson of dignity of our people and pass it down with respect to the next generations," Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi said at the beginning of the Cabinet meeting, which he chaired, IPN reports.

The official noted that events will take place throughout the country to commemorate the heroes, the courage and resistance shown by our people to protect peace and freedom.

"Each of us can participate in this moment of national unity, through which we remember the sacrifice of Moldovans and do everything in our power to preserve peace," said Mihai Popșoi.

Moldova did not covet foreign territories, but defended its land with dignity and condemns any form of violation of existing borders, noted the official.

On March 2, it will be 33 years since the start of the actions to defend the territorial integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova. About 40,000 citizens of the Republic of Moldova took part in the fighting and 321 fell in battle.
