On Memorial Day, at the „Saint Lazar” Cemetery, 3 Squads of Doctors will be on Watch

On Memorial Day, an orthodox holiday on which people go to cemeteries to commemorate their relatives), at the „Saint Lazar” cemetery 3 squads of doctors will be on watch and at the Central Cemetery on the Armeneasca Street – 2 ambulance squads. The dense crowd, excitement, but also the exaggerated consumption of food and alcoholic drinks are the main reasons which determine people to solicit the help of the doctors, states the head of the municipal Health Management, Victor Savin. One week after Easter the Orthodox Christians celebrate the Memorial Day, a holiday dedicated to the spirits of the dead relatives and forefathers. On this day, which is celebrated in the Republic of Moldova not only on Sunday, but also on Monday, Moldovan people pray and lay offerings on the graves of their relatives. In this way people imagine they are celebrating the Easter together with their forefathers in this world because in this day their spirits come back. The tradition is respected in the Chisinau cemeteries, too, where these days come together thousands of people, the most of them at the “Saint Lazar” cemetery on the Doina street and at the Central Cemetery on the Armeneasca street. In the previous years was proved the necessity of the ambulance squads in the cemeteries, states Victor Savin. At the same time, all the stationary medical institutions are ready to take care of the persons in need, having all the necessary equipment. In the centres of the Family doctors generalist medics will be on guard and in the case of an overflow of persons the specialized doctors will be called at work.
